He said a special attention would be given to youths aged 25 and below and efforts would be taken to pull them out of the doldrums.
"The government views bankruptcy among youths as a serious problem for it not only makes life difficult for them, but also a loss to the country," he said
when closing a forum on bankruptcy at the Putra World Trade Centre here today.
Lim said there were about 240,000 people declared bankrupts, one per cent of them aged below 25.
Speaking to reporters later, Lim said he would take into account all views and suggestions from the participants of the forum in amending the Bankruptcy
Act 1967 which was being finalised. Bernama
